Second Semester Highlights

Next week is midterms for my second semester in college. It has only been too months and already I have had several adventures and learned several things. As to what happens for the rest of the semester, I have no clue; but I can't wait either.

  1. Met the band that is partly responsible for my being a Christian. They remembered me, and my blog entry with my testimony.
  2. Caught the lead singer's cold, and was rather sick for a week afterwards.
  3. The tornado seirns on campus went off three times in one afternoon. Within the space of two hours. While I was outside, heading to dinner. On my birthday.
  4. Watched my Camp Pop and a friend from high school sing Elvis very well at Coffee House.
  5. Fell so far into the darkness I spent two hours behind the library crying and wanting to end it.
  6. Came home to find tulips, a half pound of Rosewood chocolates, a box of fudge and Valintines cards on my desk.
  7. Slept all night with Grendel, my shadow panther muse of a feline.
  8. Attended the campus's version of The Hunger Games. No, we didn't kill anyone.
  9. Found the light with the help of a dear brother, and I haven't lost it yet.
  10. Slipped on the ice on the way to work at six in the morning this past Thursday. Ten minutes later I couldn't move my arm. By seven I was at the clinic and at ten at the ER being told the swelling in my arm had messed up the X Rays. The best guess was that I fractured my elbow and possibly dislocated my shoulder and popped it back in.
  11. Found out the next day that I am really sensitive to pain killers and that my dosage was too high. Way to high.
  12. Discovered my manager fell down the stairs, and was using a crutch until today. My roommate hurt her knee while dancing and can hear it click when she bends it. One of my friends also cut his head open by running into a door.
  13. Got to listen to two nuns come and speak to the class.
  14. Found a Batman shirt at Wal-Mart
  15. Spent a few hours tearing Lord of the Rings apart from a Christian perspective with my brother.
  16. Convinced a kid that my honorary brother and best friend was really my brother by blood. We had him fooled for a whole week.
  17. Watched a friend from elementary and high school perform at the weekly BSU meeting.
  18. Walked to work at six am again to find campus was covered in snow. The street lamps made the barren trees turn to gold under their frosty jewelry and snow fairies dances upon my hair. No one else was awake to see it, and it was gone by the time my shift ended.
